Since starting the website back in August 2015 we’ve continued to make changes and additions to the website:
Streetfood directory – The original inspiration for the site has gone from strength to strength and now contains details of 55 streetfood and drink traders across the county. Hopefully it will prove a great resource for those planning events and weddings who want Cornish streetfood on the menu.
Foodies map – We keep adding new and interesting foodie hotspots to the map and there will be more to come. All new additions are announced on Facebook and Twitter.
Farm shop map – A completely new section of the site developed in the run-up to Christmas to help locals and visitors to #shoplocal. It has proved extremely popular.
January is traditionally a quiet time in the Cornish foodie scene with a number of the best-known restaurants closing for the whole month. That said there’s still plenty going on including:
08/01 – Free Taco day at The Watering Hole on Perranporth beach. Simply buy a drink and get a free taco!
21/01 – Secret super club at Lusty Glaze beach restaurant. The menu remains a secret, the details remain a secret and every supper club is different.
23/01 – The Idle Rocks will be hosting The Seahorse Restaurant and acclaimed chef Mitch Tonks for a five course tasting menu.
29/01 – Rosewarne Manor head chef Phil Thomas will be presenting the first of monthly seven course tasting menu evenings.
29/01 – The Beach Hut at Watergate Bay Hotel hosts the first Friday fish supper of the year.
Further in the future we’re very much looking forward to the 2nd Streetfood fest in Truro on 26th & 27th February. After the success of the first event in October it’s great to see it back so soon. See these and all future events on our Cornish foodie events calendar here.
Don’t forget that the best way to keep totally up to date with the latest Cornwall foodie news and events is through Twitter and Facebook. We sometimes only hear about events or deals at the last minute and we share them immediately on social media.
Finally just a quick thank you to all those who have made contact suggesting additions or changes to the site. It is an ever-evolving project and is always improved by input from fellow foodies.
All the best for a spectacular foodie 2016,
