Foodie Newsletter - 10/04

Updates & News

We were lucky enough to attend the first wine tasting at Truro’s great new wine shop The Art of Wine. Their next event is a wine & cheese evening on 21st April. Tickets available from the shop and are priced at £25.

The latest addition to our Cornwall foodies map is the excellent Tremenheere Kitchen, near Penzance. Just at the entrance to the Tremenheere sculpture gardens with views out over Mount’s bay this café / restaurant is definitely worth a visit. You can find the complete foodies map here.

We have added two new streetfood businesses to our directory. The Cornish waffle box and the wood-fired kitchen. You can see our streetfood directory here.

A new aspect has been added to this years Porthleven Food festival with the introduction of the Golden Oyster Food Awards. You can find details of the nominees including a number of KE favourites here and get the chance to win prizes for voting.

There was a big announcement this week in relation to the new Waitrose store outside Truro. As anyone who has been following the story will know there have always been plans to incorporate a large element of local produce in the new store but the logistics have been challenging. It was announced this week that the team behind the Cornwall Food & Drink will be bringing together the Great Cornish Food Store which is due to open in the summer.
